Because I'm new to the 400 coding stuff, I wasn't sure how to update my client access.

If you as400 is running the lates ptf (or some new version), you should be able to install the service pack on your local machine from ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/v5r4m0/servicepack/si29771/

That is their ftp site, you may have to change to v5r3m0 if you client access is at the r4 release. But that service pack installs the fixed dll that .net references.

I'm not sure about modifying the base.dispose line for the actual form. My program was a webservice, so i never really saw the error unless iis was reset.

I hope that link works for you.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08510534397033993815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6296121391225960895.post-5068472360326737032008-02-12T18:29:00.000-07:002008-02-12T18:29:00.000-07:00How do you comment out the base.Dispose line for t...How do you comment out the base.Dispose line for the form's Dispose method in VB? I'm having the same problem in VB 2008 and would like to use your workaround because unfortunately I am not permitted to update PTF's on our system.blogUserNamehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16410272998694709645noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6296121391225960895.post-73135061097850318932008-01-09T07:23:00.000-07:002008-01-09T07:23:00.000-07:00From what I can tell, that does work. When I created a test app, I had the code in a separate project. I referenced the project in my windows app. When I would run the app stand alone and closed it, or when I debugged the app and close the app (instead of terminating the debug through VS) I'd get the error.

In my project, I had the code in a static class. I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it, or what.

From Microsoft, that's the official workaround. See my other posts on the subject.Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08510534397033993815noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6296121391225960895.post-31262150055106792462008-01-08T14:03:00.000-07:002008-01-08T14:03:00.000-07:00Did this work? There is a patch on IBM Web site but it's already installed on our server and it's still erroring out.

If I modify the form's (it's C# Windows application) Dispose method by commenting out the base.Dispose(disposing) line, it doesn't give me any errors. Do you know if it's an acceptable workaround?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
